Alberta won’t be the only Canadian region on display during the IFAJ 2023.
The British Columbia Farm Writers’ Association (BCFWA), one of six regional guilds that make up the Canadian Farm Writers Federation, are eagerly planning a delicious appetizer to the main congress with their pre-tour.
Starting in Richmond, British Columbia, attendees will travel through the diversity that is Western Canada as they bounce through mountains, descend into valleys, and eventually make their way to Calgary in time for the opening reception.
Stops so far will include a flower greenhouse, a dairies, a cattle ranch, and a vineyard, while attendees will also have the opportunity to stop at some world famous tourist destinations, like the Harrison Hot Springs Resort, Lake Louise, and the Columbia Icefields.
Pre-tour organizer, David Schmit, is excited to show the diversity of the Canadian landscape and agriculture through this tour. However, attendees will have to act fast in their booking due to many of the attractions being in high demand during the summer months.
Cost for booking a single room is $2,000 CAD while book a shared room is $1,500 CAD. The tour includes four nights accommodation, transportation throughout the pre-tour, majority of the meals, admission costs to the icefields, and other miscellaneous fees.
Lodgings are in high demand during this time of year so booking numbers have to be finalized as soon as we can. Therefore, in order to make this pre-tour a go, please register as soon as possible.
