Beer and Barley in the Badlands
Join us for this exciting pre-tour of the famed Alberta Badlands where we will journey to Drumheller, AB home of the Royal Tyrell Museum. Our tour will start by visiting a 43,000-acre grain farm to find out how industrious farmers grow world-renowned grain under the difficult growing conditions associated with the Drumheller valley. We will then follow the grain-to-glass process with a stop at Valley Brewing, Drumheller’s own craft brewery. There we will find out how they use local grain to help produce their award-winning beers. Our final stop will be at the Royal Tyrell museum for a few hours of education and fun before heading back to Calgary.
The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology is Canada’s only museum dedicated exclusively to the study of ancient life. In addition to featuring one of the world’s largest displays of dinosaurs, we offer a wide variety of creative, fun, and educational programs that bring the prehistoric past to life. The Museum is operated by the Government of Alberta under the Ministry of Culture.
